Area residents lined Historic Route 66 to welcome the Rat Rod Invasion on Sept. 6. Over 100 rat rods made the trek from Goodsprings, Nev., to Langley Ill., as part of the 100-year anniversary of Route 66. The tour, hosted by Rat Rod Magazine, is the third year of Ratstock but the first time it’s hit the road for everyone to enjoy.
These custom-built cars highlight function and creativity over appearance and were celebrated for just that as residents waved flags and cheered on the drivers, who stopped in Holbrook to get a photo at the drive-thru sign and for a lunch hosted by Christina and Jeremy Turley, the owners of StitcheD Customs upholstery shop.
