It had been three years since the Wildcats won their season-opening game. Their last win in week one was in 2022 over Mohave Accelerated by a final of 57-0. Friday night, Joseph City took to the road and came home with an impressive 44-18 win over Desert Heights Prep.
This week they have a good chance to start 2-0 with a home game vs Valley Lutheran. The Flames dropped their first game of the campaign by a final of 58-6 to San Manuel.
The Wildcats prevailed in this meeting last season with a 46-26 win at Valley Lutheran. Based on the week one performance from both schools, Joseph City has an excellent chance to start the season 2-0 before they must travel to Salome in week three.
