The Lobos picked up a 1-point region win over Winslow on Tuesday last week in a come-from-behind win. The Bulldogs led by 2 at the end of the first, then extended that lead to 9 at the break.
Snowflake trimmed 3 off the lead in the third, then rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring Winslow 19-12 down the stretch to secure the 60-59 win.
Two days later though, they were unable to keep that momentum going with a 10-point freedom game loss at Payson. The Longhorns are a tall team with solid guard play, which was enough for eighth ranked Payson to prevail over the 13th ranked Lobos.
Snowflake did bounce back with a 53-42 road win at Blue Ridge on Friday night.
They enter this penultimate week of the regular season with a 10-10 overall record. They are 6-6 in regular season games, and 9-9 in non-tournament games.
This week they will host Blue Ridge on Tuesday, then welcome in ALA Anthem South on Wednesday. Friday night will be a home court region match up with Show Low.
Next week they wrap up the regular season at Show Low on Tuesday, then will host Winslow on Wednesday the 4th.
Entering this week Snowflake and Holbrook are tied for first in the region standings with 4-2 records. Alchesay, Winslow and Blue Ridge are right behind with 3-3 marks.
