“Overall, this was a good tournament for us to get some confidence back in our team. We took 12 players and everyone got quite a bit of playing time with our scores being what they were. We shot the ball better and really picked up our intensity on the defensive end. This tournament provides us a chance to get a full week of practice in and get some quality time away as a team for a few days. The girls played hard but were relaxed and they bought into what we are trying to do defensively in the second half of the season. It also helps that we shot the ball much better. Now we need to carry this momentum into our three games this week, and the rest of our regular season schedule,” stated Coach Greg Perkins.
Holbrook jumps right back into action with three games this week. Tuesday, they travel to Winslow, then Thursday will host Monument Valley. On Friday, Snowflake visits Munoz Gym.
With the four tournament wins Holbrook is now 9-8 on the season. They remain 2-5 in regular season games. With both tournaments now behind them every game the rest of the way counts towards power points.
