The Lady Wildcats opened the New Year early in January with a game on the 2nd against Ash Fork.
Being the first game of the year and coming off the holiday break, the team was a little rusty in the first quarter and trailed the Spartans 10-9. By the end of the second period the rust was gone. Joseph City outscored the visitors 21-7 building a 30-17 halftime lead. They extended the margin by 5 in the third and by 2 more in the fourth to eventually win the game 54-34.
The Neill sisters picked up right where they left off in 2025. Amber led with 20 points, while Audrey added 17. McKenzie Jesmer finished with 8, and Raylee Fish added a single point.
With the win the Wildcats advance their overall season record to 15-2. They are now 6-1 in regular season contests. They resume action with three games in three days to start the week. After hosting Camp Verde on Monday, they will travel to Sedona on Tuesday, then welcome in Valley Sanders on Wednesday. Next Tuesday they travel to Mayer.
