The Lady Lobos rolled through three more games last week, picking up wins over Chinle, Holbrook and Coolidge in the process.

Hosting the Wildcats on Tuesday, the Lobos built a 10-point lead through the first eight minutes and extended that to 32-8 at the half. The Wildcats came out of the break on fire, outscoring Snowflake 20-5 in the third, making the score 37-28 going into the final frame. In the fourth Snowflake regained control to eventually win 50-33.

Ryah Denhalter led the way with 17 points. AJ Yarn added 12; Ranell West, 7; Bryn Kupfer, 6; Josie Clare, 6; and Aubrie Denhalter added 2.

Hosting Holbrook in a girls-only night on Thursday the Lobos held a 19-13 lead through the first quarter, then used a big second quarter to lead 34-16 at the break. The two teams played even in the second half, but Snowflake won the region game 63-46.

Ryah Denhalter had a big night, scoring 23. Aubrie Denhalter added 11, as did Kupfer. Clare added 6; West, 4; Raylee Hancock, 3; and Yarn had 2.

Snowflake made the long trip to Coolidge to face a shorthanded Bears team on Friday night. Coolidge had some players sitting due to some suspensions, and the Lobos took advantage with a 62-13 win.

This week Snowflake will host Page on Tuesday night in a battle between two of the better teams from each of the north and east regions. Snowflake is senior led, while Page is rebuilding a bit, but the Sand Devils always play solid defense.

Friday night Snowflake will travel to Tucson to face Pusch Ridge. The Lions are 4-0 thus far on the season and might pose a threat with the Lobos having to travel.

Next Tuesday Snowflake will travel to Tuba City to face what might be the best team in the 3A North this year. The Lady Warriors are 3-0 in the regular season and have an impressive freshman point guard that will give Snowflake’s defense a test. The Lobos size will create a problem for the smaller Tuba City team though.
