Looking for a way to kick off the New Year? The City of Holbrook will be hosting its inaugural Tumbleweed Drop at the Navajo County Historic Courthouse starting at 7 p.m. with the drop to take place at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. At 8:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Hadley Hayes, who provided the tumbleweed selected for the drop will be crowned Tumbleweed Queen and Joey Padilla, who provided the largest overall tumbleweed will be crowned Tumbleweed Knight. Last week, area residents went on a tumbleweed safari, collecting the largest, roundest weeds they could find to be considered for the honors.
