The Wildcats are definitely in rebuild mode this season after coming up well short in their first two contests. After getting shut out by Salome in week one, the Cats were hoping that playing on their home field vs Lincoln Prep on Aug. 30, would help them even their record.
The Lightning didn’t agree, handing the Wildcats their second consecutive loss by a final of 52-8. Stats were not available at press time for this contest.
In their week one loss to Salome, Cort Miller completed 5 of 13 passes for 57 yards. Dylan Salazar was the leading rusher with 21 yards on 6 attempts. Salazar was also the leading receiver with 30 yards on 2 catches. Kase Fish had 2 receptions for 17 total yards. Tytan Penrod, Jaxon Arnell, and Salazar each led the defense with 5 tackles.
This week the Wildcats travel to face Maryvale Prep. The Matadors have had a similar start to the season as Joseph City, suffering a 61-point loss to Mohave Accelerated in their first contest of the season.
