Last season the Lobos began the football season with back-to-back losses. This year, they are starting on a much more positive note following their 47-27 win over Bradshaw Mountain.
Snowflake’s defense got the job done through the first three quarters where they shut out the Bears. Bradshaw scored all 27 of their points in the fourth frame.
The Lobos started slowly, with just one score in the first but found the endzone twice in the second and three additional times in the third building a 41-0 lead before tacking on one final score in the fourth.
Jacob LaDuke completed 6 of his 9 pass attempts for 104 yards, with one touchdown. He was also Snowflake’s leading rusher gaining 83 yards on 9 runs, finding the endzone three additional times.
Snowflake piled up 240 yards on the ground. Karter Raban also carried nine times, gaining 79 yards with a score. Kanton Turley picked up 73 yards on 12 totes, finding the endzone once. Judd Flake gained 7 yards with one short scoring run.
Merrick Ulberg had 3 receptions for 55 total yards with a touchdown. Christian Smith, Graham Silverhorn, and Kanton Turley each had one catch.
Aaden Coor led the defensive side of the ball with 14 total tackles. Hayden Nichols, and Jo Jo Lerma both had 8 stops.
This week the Lobos will look to push their record to 2-0 when they host Cactus. The Cobras won their first game impressively over Sunnyslope so this may very well be a high-scoring contest.
