Snowflake opened the new year with a 3-point overtime win over visiting Pima on Thursday last week. The Roughriders came into the game with a two-game losing streak and the Lobos added one more to that total, surviving with a 41-38 extra session victory.
With the win, the Lobos moved to 8-5 overall and more importantly they advanced their regular season mark to 5-2. With the initial 3A power rankings due out Tuesday, Snowflake should find themselves in a good position with a very busy January schedule ahead of them. Eight more games in the month are on the slate, beginning with a trip to Winslow on Tuesday. The Lobos fell at home to the Bulldogs just before Christmas and will be looking to avenge that loss. On Friday they host Payson.
