Snowflake enters the new calendar amid a nine-game winning streak, which dates back to Dec. 6. Their Jan. 4, 46-38 home-court win over a physical Pima team handed the Roughriders their first regular season loss.
Snowflake is 12-3 on the season and playing well under head coach Mike Brogan. They should easily be ranked inside the top 10 when the year’s first power rankings are released by AIA on Tuesday afternoon. The Lobos have just one regular season loss, with five checks in the win category.
Like all area teams, they have a busy January ahead. After playing in Winslow on Tuesday, they will be in Ganado on Thursday. Friday night will be their third game this week when they host Payson. Next week, they have a challenging schedule with a long trip to take on a very talented Window Rock team on Thursday, followed by a short trip to take on the current number-one 3A team in the state on Friday in Show Low.
