Earlier this month the Roxy Theater featured a showing of the film The Red Hogaan, a horror movie filmed in Kayenta by Navajo filmmaker Kody Dayish of Shiprock and his siblings Kolette and Kolin. The film had a tremendous turnout, with 215 people in attendance. Kody and his sister Kolette noted that they had passed through Holbrook many times during the screening tour of their Navajo film and always noticed the Roxy Theater. “We’d say how cool would it be to see The Red Hogaan up on their big sign and now here we are! We are blessed to have the opportunity to screen the movie here,” stated Kody. They added that the best part of the night was seeing the long line of people outside waiting to buy their tickets, some traveling from as far as Mesa and Phoenix to watch the film. Kody said, “We’d like to thank each and every one of you who came out to watch our movie. It was so fun watching the movie with everyone hearing them scream at the scary parts, their reactions were priceless! And a huge thank you to the actors who are in this movie. Seeing it on the big screen was amazing and everyone said the movie was scary.” To learn more about The Red Hogaan visit kdayishproductions.com and follow them on YouTube and Facebook @kodydayishproductions.
