The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Areas 1 and 2 during the period of May 29 – June 4. Areas 1 and 2 include Joseph City, Woodruff, Sun Valley, Goodwater, Adamana, unincorporated areas of Winslow and Holbrook, and parts of the Navajo and Hopi reservations that are located within the boundaries of Navajo County. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt. On Monday, May 30, Whitney Kinnaman, 29, of Roger, Ark., and Troy Johnson, 26, of Kingman were both arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, following a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at Milepost 295 in the Holbrook area for civil traffic violations. Deputies observed open containers in the vehicle and conducted a search of the vehicle. The search revealed additional open containers of alcohol, drug paraphernalia, 6.7 grams of methamphetamine, and two unknown pills that were sent to the Arizona Department of Public Safety lab for testing. Both Kinnaman and Johnson were booked into Navajo County Jail. On Wednesday, June 1, Tristan Mark Lupe, 20, of Cibecue was arrested for criminal damage and underage drinking after deputies were dispatched to the Smithfield Pig Farm on State Route 77 for an individual who refused to leave and began being disorderly. Lupe reportedly arrived to the facility intoxicated, and then became disorderly. A third party came to pick Lupe up, but he refused to leave and damaged their vehicle. Lupe was booked into the county jail.
