The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Areas 1 and 2 during the period of Feb. 6-12. Areas 1 and 2 include Joseph City, Woodruff, Sun Valley, Goodwater, Adamana, unincorporated areas of Winslow and Holbrook, and parts of the Navajo and Hopi reservations that are located within the boundaries of Navajo County. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt. On Tuesday, Feb. 8, Marco Dixson Jr., 19, of Joseph City was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence, assault/domestic violence and aggravated domestic violence after deputies responded to the 8100 block of Bushman Avenue in Joseph City, for reports of an individual causing a disturbance. Dixson was booked into Navajo County Jail. On Thursday, Feb. 10, Basil Kaliym Harris Assing, 35, of Sun Valley was charged with destruction of a public jail after deputies were dispatched to the Navajo County Jail for a report of damage to jail property.
