By Linda Kor The third annual Northern Arizona Lights is fast approaching and organizers are inviting area residents to take part in this drive-thru light display in Joseph City. This tradition is a combined effort of Joseph City residents Dave Leg and the Westover Family. What originally started it as a fun display for families and friends has become much more as the organizers decided to create an opportunity to share Christmas cheer with area residents. This event continues to be a free drive-thru to view festive decorations but this year an effort is being made to help raise money and donations for charities. According to organizer Rusty Westover, the sites measure 25 feet by 25 feet that are available for families or businesses to rent for the Christmas season and put up their own display. These spaces will be $25 each and the electricity will be provided at no cost. All proceeds will go to charity. The area includes several acres and is located on the north side of Joseph City that can be accessed by entering on the corner of 4th Avenue and Bushman Avenue or by turning left off of Randall Avenue onto Rusty Avenue. To rent a space or make a contribution of any kind such as food, clothing, blankets or money contact Westover at (928) 587-2590 or email rustywestover@outlook.com. The deadline to sign up is Nov. 25, with set up to take place the following week. People are also able to request the addition of a favorite charity to the list of recipients.
