The Snowflake Unified School District Governing Board approved an official Parent-Teacher-Student organization (PTSO) for Snowflake Intermediate School, which previously has been an effort of volunteers working for the betterment of students. Board member Cory Johnson inquired how the group has been working out previously and Superintendent Hollis Merrell was happy to report that the organizations have been working out well for the schools in the district and that the district is grateful to have them. With the official organization of volunteers comes more opportunities to provide services.
Superintendent Merrell reported on the payment plan based on Proposition 301, which has been extended to 2041 and resulted in no change to the payment plan for employees of the district. Following discussion at the previous month’s meeting, the district has redefined their IT positions to incorporate the full description of the work that those positions entail.
The board went into executive session for the evaluation of the superintendent and board with no action taken following that session.
