At the Dec. 3 meeting, the Snowflake Town Council recognized two long-time employees as they enter retirement. The council thanked Marie Jones for her 10 years of service at the library and Snowflake town attorney, Bob Hall for his 21 years of service to the community.
“It’s been a great place to work, I’ve learned a lot of things, especially about books and the library system it’s interesting, the people who have been coming in and the new people looking for resources in the library. It’s been good days and some challenging days, but every job is like that and I appreciate your support,” said Jones. Members of the council and citizens of the town thanked Jones for her service and for making the town library a bright place to be for their children and grandchildren.
The town also recognized Hall for his many years of service. “Thank you for everything. It’s been nice working with you, we’re going to miss you, but I hope you enjoy retirement,” said councilwoman Allison Perkins.
The council also entertained and approved the second reading of a rezoning request for the Willis family in addition to the first reading for a rezoning request near Putter’s Paradise at 2085 W. Snowflake Blvd. to be able to build more duplexes by the golf course. The motion was approved but still needs another reading to pass.
