Extra! Extra! The regional premiere of Disney’s smash-hit musical “Newsies” is coming soon! See what The New York Times called “a musical worth singing about!” Presented by Joseph City Arts with cast members from Holbrook, Winslow and Joseph City, this is a spectacle you and your family will not want to miss. Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this new Disney musical tells the story of Jack Kelly (Dylan Romero), a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer (Mitchell Farnes) raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the beautiful female reporter Katherine Plumber (Leigh Neal), all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.” Performances are at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-3 at the BG Bennett Auditorium in Joseph City.
