The Town of Snowflake recently installed an impressive new 80-foot flagpole on the hill located by the Snowflake Junior High School football field. The enormous flag can be seen for miles overlooking the town.

Just in time for the annual Pioneer Days events, Snowflake held a special flag raising ceremony and Vietnam War veteran Tim Sears had the honor of helping raise the flag. Sears is a highly decorated combat veteran who served with the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division.

Members of the Snowflake Taylor Police Department and the Taylor Snowflake Fire & Medical Department wore their dress uniforms for the occasion. Also attending the ceremony were Snowflake Mayor Lynn Johnson, Vice Mayor Kerry Ballard and town council members Allison Perkins (Sear’s daughter), Byron Lewis, and Hunter Lewis. Town Manager Brian Richards and Judge Fred Peterson were all on hand to help raise the flag.
