Welcoming visitors and residents to the Town of Snowflake is a 45-foot-tall “S” located on a hill on the west side of Highway 77 just north of Snowflake. The “S” has long been an object of pride in the community and is usually repainted white for Snowflake High School homecoming every year. Now the “S” has a bright and shining new look.
A collaborative effort between the Town of Snowflake, the Snowflake Heritage Foundation, The Solar Exchange and many volunteers has the “S” now visible at night with brand new solar powered dusk to dawn lighting. With a fresh coat of paint and the new lighting it can now be seen shining brightly even on the darkest night.
Everyone involved put in many hours of hard work to make this project happen. Sarah Brimhall with the Snowflake Heritage Foundation is thrilled with the results. Brimhall said “I want it bigger and brighter!” Be sure to give a look towards the “S” with Snowflake pride and remember a community came together to complete the project.
