Brigham Young University’s (BYU) top female a capella ensemble, Noteworthy, will be performing at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, at the Snowflake High School auditorium. Tickets for the event are $8 at the door.
Silver Creek Performing Arts presents the delightful concert that combines vocal percussion, humor and tight harmony. Noteworthy features nine members that have been carefully selected through a competitive audition process. They are considered experts in musical ability, creativity and stage experience. It will be a skillful spirited performance to be enjoyed by all.
Ester Yoder, an alumnus of BYU, created Noteworthy in 2003. By 2007, the group had won the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. In 2014, the group became an official BYU group. Noteworthy has also appeared on NBC’s hit television show, “The Sing-Off.” They are widely known for their 2015 video performance of “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)”. That video went viral with over three million views in two weeks.
Noteworthy delivers beautiful crisp harmony while skillfully mimicking instruments with their voices. They perform musical numbers from a variety of musical genres including rock, pop, country, jazz, spiritual, and rhythm and blues. The group takes popular songs and rearranges them to make them their own using nothing but vocals.
