Snowflake-Taylor Police Chief Larry Scarber and Senior Sgt. Alan DeWitt traveled to the 124th International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference in Philadelphia last week.

This event is the largest gathering of law enforcement in the world. The conference included learning sessions, general assemblies and keynote speakers, including Cressida Dick, commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police, and Jeff Sessions, U.S. Attorney General.

Scarber not only represented his police department and community, but also the Indian Country Law Enforcement Section, which he serves as secretary. The men paid most of the expenses, including lodging and airfare, out of their own pockets in order to have their community and region participate in the event.
