Bread of Life Mission in Holbrook is expecting to serve many more than last year for Thanksgiving Dinner and to provide food boxes to needy families. First Baptist Church won’t be giving food boxes this year. Catholic Charities is the only other agency giving food boxes in the city. As always, anyone in the community wanting to come for Thanksgiving Dinner to the mission is welcome. This is no time to be alone. Come from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. If you are handicapped or are shut-in, unable to come, call and mission officials will do their best to deliver a meal to you. If you need a ride from downtown to the mission for dinner, call. Your help is needed. The mission needs many turkeys, dressing, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, yams, potatoes, butter and pies, cooked or uncooked. Volunteers are also needed to serve during the meal and to help drive. Call 524-3874 if you need a food box, a delivered meal, a ride to dinner, or to volunteer your time or donate food. The mission is located at 885 Hermosa Drive in Holbrook.
