Stephen R. Hayes, 73, passed away Sept. 20, 2016, in Snowflake, Ariz. He died due to a chronic illness. He was with friends who loved him and hospice. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on Dec. 14, 1942. Stephen spent his life helping others including friends, churches and at the Snowflake Senior Citizens Center. He had many friends at the swap meet. Stephen was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was a chair person on the Pastoral Council for the Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church. He was president of the Legion of Mary Praesidium and a Legion of Mary Curia president. He was also the flea market manager and helped with bingo. He loved helping others such as with the United Way food boxes. Memorial services will be at a later date at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Snowflake. The Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor handled the arrangements.
