Larry Allen Helsop peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Snowflake. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 3, with the funeral following at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Snowflake Stake Center. Interment will be at the Mike Ramsay Cemetery in Snowflake. He was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Phoenix to Lyle and Lois Helsop. Larry attended Mesa public schools and graduated from Mesa High School in 1960, where he excelled in football and wrestling. He married Sandra Hatch in the Mesa Temple in 1964. Over the years he worked a variety of jobs. He worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation for 18 years, retiring in 2006. He spent the last 10 years serving his neighbors, family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Helsop; his children, Jason (Carolyn), Chad (Karen), Blake (Belynda), Tara Warren (Tim) and Jeremy (Amanda); 20 grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Errol (Patty) Heslop; and numerous extended family members. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
