Arizona Public Service (APS) Cholla Power Plant will host a Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 269 W. Bucket of Blood St. in Holbrook. The event will give residents of Holbrook, Joseph City, Sun Valley and Woodruff the opportunity to bring in hazardous waste to be safely recycled or disposed of. Items that will be accepted include paints, solvents and caustic liquid cleaners. Navajo County has also committed to disposing of the tires that are brought in during this event. Residents must present proof (such as a mailed bill) that they reside in Holbrook, Joseph City, Sun Valley or Woodruff, in order to drop off their hazardous waste.
