The Snowflake Lobos burst onto the football field with American flags flying Friday night, Sept. 11. The players planned the display to show their love and respect for our country on Patriot Day, the 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. They gathered the flags that day, and handled them with care and respect as they prepared them for use in the game. They also made arrangements for individuals to gather the flags after their entry onto the field at the beginning of the game to make sure that the flags did not touch the ground. Their efforts were rewarded as the stands erupted with cheers and tears from the Snowflake and Fountain Hills fans when they ran onto the field with the flags.
