Navajo County sheriff’s deputies located the skeletal remains of an unknown person after being called to the area of milepost 11 on the Concho Highway east of Snowflake at 4:28 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. The case was turned over to criminal investigations, and the scene was secured overnight to complete processing the area the following day. Sheriff’s detectives will work with the medical examiner’s office to determine the identity of the deceased, as well as the manner and cause of death.
