The curtain will go up on Annie, performed by Canyon Creek Performing Arts and presented by the Silver Creek Performing Arts Association (SCPAA), at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 20-22, at the Snowflake High School Auditorium. A 2 p.m. matinee performance is also planned on Saturday.

Annie is a much loved Broadway musical based on a popular comic strip by Harold Gray titled Little Orphan Annie. In 1977 the original Broadway production opened and ran for six years. Tomorrow and It’s the Hard Knock Life are two of the favorite songs of this popular musical that was eventually made into a movie.

Annie begins in an orphanage, but soon she runs away to find her parents. Along the way she finds a stray dog, Sandy. She is invited to spend Christmas at the home of billionaire Oliver Warbucks, who doesn’t really want her there; however, he opens his heart to her and eventually wants to adopt her, but of course there are twists and turns along the way.

“These kids and teens have really put their all into getting ready for this production. And it shows! The singing, the dancing, the acting…it’s all top notch. And it’s just a really fun, heart-warming musical all round. So please, do catch at least one of these four shows of Annie and support your community. It will be a great show!” said Director David Bowman.

Staring as Annie are two talented young girls, Victoria Bjornn and Baylee Bowman. Oakley Seymore plays Daddy Warbucks, MacKenzie Harris plays Grace, Mariah Moore plays Miss Hannigan, Rustin Merrill plays Rooster, AnnMarie Chugg plays Lily, Kadyn Davis plays President Franklin Roosevelt, McKay Davis plays Howe, President Roosevelt’s aide, and a variety of young actors/singers play the orphans.

Admission is by SCPAA season ticket, or tickets will be available at the door or online at www.scpaa.org.
