Photo by Shawn WhiteAt the Winslow 9/11 Memorial on Sept. 11, 2,973 American flags were on display to represent the lives lost in the 2001 tragedy, alongside flags from the 161 nations who all lost people. The flags were presented in the shape of the Twin Towers, with a tribute to the Stonycreek Township plane crash in Pennsylvania. The memorial also honors first responders who died due to illnesses received as a result of responding to the disaster and stands as a symbol of unity and resilience. This display was orchestrated by Ken Evans and a team of volunteers.
