Petrified Forest National Park once again hosted the Youth Conservation Corps this summer with six participants working alongside park staff to learn about conservation and the various career paths available in the NPS. The crew kicked off the season with a camping trip into the Painted Desert and a community service project cleaning up and beautifying the Holbrook library flower beds. Leading the program this year are park employees Desiree Dyer and Victoria Philpott. The youth participating in this year’s YCC program include Melissa Gorman, Carlee Manymules, Alison Belinte, Alex George, Emory Yazzie and Chase Sherman.
