By L. Parsons The Winslow Unified School District Governing Board met last week for the last time before the school year begins tomorrow, July 29. The only agenda item at the meeting were personnel matters including approval for the hiring of Brandon Guzman, Devon Sawyers, Christopher Garrett, Stacey Berg and Drew Luzier, each as Winslow High School football coaches; Julie Thomas, Darrin Mitchell and Robina Villanueva, each as WHS volleyball coaches; Janeen Barton and Wilburt Barton, both as WHS cross country coaches; Reese Chatwin and Benjamin Del Mar, both as WHS swim team coaches; and Jennifer Brown and Nicole Guzman, both as WHS cheer coaches. In other business, the board: * Approved Bettina Reinhardt as a volunteer coach for the Winslow Junior High Spiritline; Jordan Payne and Eric Leonard as volunteers for WHS football; and Debra Brown and Jennifer Wilbanks as volunteers for WHS cheer. * Accepted the resignation of Linda Branch as a WJHS paraprofessional and Tierra Jishie as WHS science teacher and athletic trainer. The next meeting of the Winslow Unified School District Governing Board will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, in the board meeting room, located at 800 N. Apache Ave.
