For the next six weeks, new roadway signs will be replaced throughout the city of Winslow as part of a Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG) project administered by the Arizona Department of Transportation. The Winslow portion of the project is part of an extensive statewide roadway sign replacement undertaking to upgrade signs in various locations within the NACOG planning area. The sign replacements will begin with regulatory and warning signs first, such as stop signs and speed limit signs, followed by street name signs. The new signs will provide for better visibility and legibility for all users of public roads and streets. Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, within the roadway right of way. Occasional roadway restrictions may be in effect as needed; please be alert for crews and equipment while work is underway.
