Lambert Dixson, 35, of Winslow was arrested on numerous charges after Winslow police conducted a welfare check at 7:31 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at a residence in the 1000 block of North Kinsley Avenue. When officers arrived they determined that a 29-year-old female victim had been severely beaten, strangled, tortured and raped by her ex-boyfriend who was later identified as Dixson.

Dixson was charged with strangulation, criminal damage, kidnapping, sexual assault, preventing the use of a telephone in an emergency, aggravated assault and attempted homicide. He was booked in to the Navajo County Jail.

The victim in this case received medical attention at the Little Colorado Medical Center for her injuries and was then released from the hospital. Due to the nature of the incident, the victim’s name will not be published.
