Winslow City Manager John Barkley announced last week that he will be resigning his position as of Aug. 5. In a written statement, Barkley explained that he has accepted a position as city manager of Charles Town, W.Va. Barkley is familiar with that region as he came from Washington, D.C., to start his job with Winslow approximately four years ago. There has been no announcement made as of press time as to the next steps that will be taken by the city to fill that position.
