Due to Zika Virus risk, people who have traveled to the Caribbean (including Puerto Rico), Mexico, or Central or South America in the past 28 days cannot give blood. This has reduced the number of donors at United Blood Services’ blood drives and donor centers. Every day, patients in 64 Arizona hospitals depend upon 500 United Blood Services’ donors. New blood donors are urgently needed to help replace the donors lost from the new Zika Virus travel deferral. The bloodmobile will be at the Winslow Elks Lodge No. 536, located at 315 W. Third St., from 1:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10. To make an appointment, call 1-877-UBS-HERO (1-877-827-4376) or visit www.BloodHero.com.
