Most major cities have their own mobile applications. These apps tell tourists, and residents alike where to eat, what attractions to see, history, and information on the location. This summer the Winslow Chamber of Commerce released their own app.

A free download that is compatible with all of your devices, the Winslow, Arizona app will give you an entirely new perspective on the town made famous by the Eagle’s song, Take It Easy.

Users begin by swiping through a series of instructions and a table of contents. The table of contents is interactive, and one may choose a destination within the app, or continue to swipe to view all of it. Among the choices are local attractions, a calendar of events, cultural and historical attractions, and national parks and monuments.

Each category is filled with information and 360-degree photos. The photos are beautifully captured, but as Chamber of Commerce Director Bob Hall stated, “We want to have even more pictures that capture the different seasons of all these amazing places.”

The reviews for the app have been fair, with most citing the need for more pictures of various attractions and working out the kinks in the application itself. This is common with first generation apps and Hall explained, “We are working with the developer, Touch Point Designs, to make this as streamlined and useful as possible.” He also mentioned that to work hand in hand with the app, will soon be a live feed camera at the Standin’ On The Corner Park at Kinsley Avenue and Second Street.

The Winslow, Arizona app is available in the Google Play Store as well as the Apple Store.
