Wendy Maestas Candelaria was born in Holbrook on Sept. 18, 1972. On Nov. 26, 2022, in Phoenix at 50 years, Wendy passed into the next life. She is survived by her mother, Rosemary “Peewee” Maestas; three daughters, Tessa, Delainey and Gracie Candelaria; her beloved, Scott Candelaria; her only sister, Yvonne Larson; two nephews, Ty and Tildyn Larson; and two nieces, Talyssa and Tayla Larson. She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Frankie Maestas. She was born and raised in Holbrook, surrounded by family and friends that became family. Alumni of the class of 1990, Wendy attended and graduated from Holbrook High School. Wendy worked at the Wayside Cafe in Holbrook for years, ensuring she knew her customers by name and order. From home cooking, to baking, to flower arranging, Wendy had a way of sharing her talents with everyone; sending love and prayers to the family members she adored, the friends she loved, the community she uplifted on Facebook and all others grieving now. We love and miss you Wendy, God be with you till we meet again. Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 225 E. Arizona St., in Holbrook, followed by graveside services at 3 p.m. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
