Photo courtesy of the City of HolbrookWorkers with the City of Holbrook repaired an 18-inch water main on the south side of the Little Colorado River that serves the people of Holbrook. Water/Wastewater Supervisor Randy Sullivan (left) and Daniel Gabaldon (right) were part of the crew working on the break. According to Sullivan, the rubber seals on a coupling wore out and could no longer be tightened to stop the leak. The system had to be shut down on Feb. 14 for a short time from the wells to the river and then shut off the lower section of the town off in order for the pressures to be low enough for the repair to be made.
