William Grant has qualified for the Division IV state cross country meet thanks to his 33rd place finish with a time of 20:25.05 at the sectional meet held in Page on Wednesday last week. The junior finished just high enough to earn a spot in the season’s final race.
Jimmy McLaws finished 53rd, Jaimen Tsosie was 61st and King Robinson was 65th.
For the Lady Wildcat team, Karly Hansen has also advanced to Saturday’s final race. Her finishing time of 23:39.23 placed her 21st overall. She was Joseph City’s only female runner.
The state cross country meet will be held at Cave Creek Golf Course with races beginning at 9:45 on Saturday morning.
