Taylor Town Manager Gus Lundberg’s contract was extended for two years, and his salary was increased from $78,000 annually to $85,000.

The council first discussed the amendments to Lundberg’s contract in executive session on April 1, then returned to regular session to vote on the matter.

“For one I really appreciate Gus…he’s flawless,” said Vice Mayor Shawn Palmer.

Councilman Jason Brubaker said that from the start he has appreciated the decisions made by Lundberg. He spoke specifically of the water problems around the airport and how they had lost the money from Navajo County, but Lundberg worked it out so that the county got involved again and doubled the money for the project.

“I appreciate all you’ve done,” said Councilman David Smith, noting that Lundberg has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Mayor Fay Hatch said he also appreciates Lundberg and called for a motion.

Smith moved to extend Lundberg’s contract and increase his salary. The motion passed unanimously.

The council also unanimously approved making an offer on property located at 100 W. Cattle Lane, which is now Roy’s Trailer Park, after discussing the issue in executive session.
