The Taylor Town Council held the first reading March 2 of changes made to the town code, including changing the number of planning and zoning commissioners from seven to five, and lowering the quorum requirement to three members. Passage will be considered at the April town council meeting.
Jeff Johnson of the Planning and Zoning Department asked for input on candidates for two planning and zoning commission seats that will be vacant in June. He noted that one commissioner can serve another term, and the other has completed his terms.
The second reading of Ordinance 2011-02, establishing a public right of way/easement that would be known as East Center Street in the area beyond 1000 East, was tabled. Town Attorney Sterling Solomon explained at the previous council meeting that there was a discrepancy between the legal description on the map and the written information. He said that title company representatives were still working on the discrepancy and he was to meet with them the following day.
