On Monday, Sept. 5, Navajo County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 3300 block of Pinecone Road in Heber for reports of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, witnesses informed them a motorcycle had passed the residence and discharged seven rounds toward a recreational vehicle on the property. The witness statements were substantiated by video and still photos of the incident. Deputies canvassed the area and located John David Dodd, 36, on the 3600 block of Redwing Loop in Overgaard and made the arrest. Dodd admitted to driving to the residence to confront a male subject, but instead fired his weapon in to the recreational vehicle. One female was inside the vehicle, she was not injured. Dodd was booked in to the Navajo County Jail on charges of drive by shooting, endangerment, disorderly conduct involving weapons and possession of a firearm by a prohibited possessor.
