One collision was investigated by Snowflake-Taylor police officers during the period of Aug. 27 – Sept. 2, according to dispatcher reports.
At approximately 6:54 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, a vehicle vs elk collision occurred on Highway 77 and Shumway Road. Randy Castillo, 37, of Cuba, N.M, was traveling when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle causing a single vehicle collision.
At approximately 3:33 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, a two-vehicle, non-injury collision occurred on South Main Street in Snowflake. According to the report, a 2012 Toyota Yaris driven by Jason Hickner, 47, of Arvada, Colo., collided with an unidentified vehicle driven by Daylene Fowler, 64, of Snowflake. Hickner was cited and released for making an unsafe lane change.
