Applications can be useful in many ways. There are programs that help you stay on track with workouts, plan your day or keep track of your grocery list. There are also apps that help with finances and some even do so automatically, like Qapital. Qapital is a free download available across all operating systems. It has garnered a 4.5 star rating out of five and boasts more than 100,000 downloads.

The goal of Qapital is to make saving money easier, and seamless for the user. The first step is to set a personal reason for saving. For example, one may choose to save to make a purchase, take a trip, pay off debt or just start saving for a rainy day.

Qapital then asks how users would like to start saving. Options include Round Up Rule, which saves the change each time you swipe your debit card; the Spend Less Rule, which helps you set a budget and when you come in under that budget, saves the difference; the 52-Week Rule, which sets you up to save $1 the first week, $2 the second and so on for 52 weeks; and four other savings plan options. Then users enter their bank information, linking their account to the app.

The makers of the application assure the safety of your personal and financial information, as they are a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) member. To access the money saved, there are various options with Qapital. Users may have it put back into their bank accounts, or receive a secured Visa debit card from Qapital.

The app description in the Google Play Store notes, “Just like banks, Qapital comes with bill-pay, e-checks, direct deposit and top notch security…unlike banks, we don’t charge monthly fees.”
