The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Areas 1 and 2 during the period of Aug. 13-19. Areas 1 and 2 include Joseph City, Woodruff, Sun Valley, Goodwater, Adamana, unincorporated areas of Winslow and Holbrook, and parts of the Navajo and Hopi reservations that are located within the boundaries of Navajo County. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt. At 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, Monte Begaye, 53, of Winslow was arrested for refusal to provide a truthful name after deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Hopi Drive in Holbrook for a report of an individual causing a disturbance. Begaye was booked into the Navajo County. At 8:01 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, Ariana Romero, 27, of Winslow was arrested for possession and/or use of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on 2nd Street in Winslow. Romero was booked into the county jail. At 1:31 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, Alexandra Kinyon, 48, of Holbrook was arrested for failure to appear after deputies were dispatched to the 8500 block of Sun Valley Road regarding a citizen dispute. Kinyon was booked into the county jail. At 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Theodore Moody, 47, of Winslow was arrested for assault after deputies were dispatched to the 7900 block of Starlight Road in Sun Valley for reports of an assault. Moody was booked into the county jail. At 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Reuben Wauneka, 29, of Holbrook was arrested for failure to appear after deputies were dispatched to the 4500 block of 2nd North Avenue in Joseph City regarding a welfare check. Wauneka was booked into the county jail. At 1:39 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, Cody Yellowhair, 30, of Sun Valley was arrested for failure to comply after deputies responded to the 7600 block of Pinto Road in Sun Valley for reports of an intoxicated male. Yellowhair was booked into the county jail. At 7:49 a.m. on Wednesday, Kenneth Yellowhair Jr., 35, of Holbrook was arrested for assault after deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of East Iowa Street in Holbrook for reports of assault. At 9:54 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, Manuel Vargas, 22, of Joseph City was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession and/or use of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Colorado Street in Winslow. After illegal drugs were located, Vargas was booked into the county jail. At 3:35 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, Nathan Bennett, 34, of Phoenix was arrested for violation of probation and failure to appear after he contacted deputies in Holbrook regarding his warrants. Bennett was booked into the county jail. At 6:12 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, Isaac Torrez, 25, of Holbrook was arrested for failure to comply after deputies made contact with Torrez in the Holbrook area. Torrez was booked into the county jail.
