Obit Martin Sheldon

Sheldon Joseph Martin, 26, passed away on May 7, 2018, in Tempe. Funeral services for Sheldon will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, at the Winslow Funeral Home, located at 1505 W. Third St. in Winslow. Burial will follow in Desert View Cemetery. Sheldon was born in Winslow to Cynthia Curley. Young Sheldon was full of dreams to become a musician, actor, chef and a fashion designer, just to name a few. He had a strong sense of personality, being generous and understanding to anyone who was willing to joke and share a laugh. He was always a helping hand and always putting others before himself. Growing up he sang beautifully in church; his big heart was always full with music. Sheldon worked at the local Brown Mug Café from the age of 14 until he moved to Phoenix in 2011. Being a part of a bigger picture was a life goal for him. He cherished his family and friends. There is not a friend he made that could say he ever disrespected life. His siblings are all still trying to match his tender hearted actions. Sheldon is survived by his mother, Cynthia “CeCee” Curley; sister, Olivia Joy Martin of Winslow; brothers, Myron Martin, Joshua Martin of Queen Creek and Aaron Martin of Phoenix; two nieces, Bella Dior Gracie Martin and Lilliana Joyce Martin; two nephews, Cylas Ryan Martin and Elijah “Hondo” Martin and one on the way. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Joseph H. Curley and Lillie S. Curley; father, Myron Martin Sr.; and grandmother, Rosina Jones.
