Much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Robert Samuel Dawson, 60, passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2026. Robert was born on Sept. 8, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Terence Dawson and Elsie Stewart.
He grew up in West Valley City, Utah. He attended BYU where he met his wife Victoria Paxton and received his BS in health science. Robert and Victoria were married August 30, 1991, and went on to have eight children. He became certified as a physician’s assistant in 2007.
Robert was known for his sense of humor, love of his family, but most importantly his love for the Savior.
In late 2015 Robert suffered a stroke, which deprived him of mobility on the left side of his body. He continued working as a PA until 2020.
Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Victoria Dawson; children, Robert Jr. (Suzanne), Analisa Willis (Chris), Johnathan (Kaiya), Andrew (Isabella), Jessica Johnson (Jet), Esther, Christine and Alexander; five grandchildren; brothers, Sterling and Michael; and sisters, Ceridwen and Margaret.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Terence and Elsie; brothers, John, Nathan and Richard; and his sister, Elizabeth.
