After a fearless battle with cancer, Phyllis Michelle Hafer-Baird went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2018. She leaves behind her husband, Michael Baird; two daughters, Christina Hafer-Boothe (Mitchell) and Jolene Hafer-Elliot (Manuel); seven grandkids, Adrian, Harlan, Carver, Madison, Kayden, Mckenna and Avery; sister, Sidney Hafer; nephews, Michael and Andre; a niece Desiree; soul sister Amy; and countless other great nieces and nephews and friend Gary Wise. A celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held at a later date for family and close friends. Phyllis was born on Aug. 15, 1965, in Orange County, Calif., but she spent her childhood in Rosamond, Calif. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marcia Hafer. Phyllis had a love and passion for animals and humans alike. Becoming a vet tech and caregiver for the elderly fulfilled her soul to help those who couldn’t help themselves. Her heart was like none other in the world. She had a passion for love. I say love because that is the only word to describe her passion. She loved everyone and she was full of so much love that she always had a glow, a loving glow. Phyllis adored her daughters, grandkids, family and friends. Her best friend was Mike and it was her dying wish to get married to him. On Friday, May 4, 2018, that wish came true and Phyllis passed a married woman. The cancer may have taken her physical body but her spirit now flies free. Phyllis will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her as she made a friend wherever she went. She wanted to spread love around the world and she did that by loving everyone around her and she will be greatly missed. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled the arrangements.
