Join a Petrified Forest National Park archeologist for a hike to visit Puerco Pueblo and petroglyphs at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 10. The hike is suitable for children ages 8 and above. Meet at the Puerco Pueblo parking lot at 1 p.m. for an easy three-tenths of a mile hike. Be prepared with appropriate shoes, hat, sunscreen and lots of water. At 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, a Backcountry Petroglyph Hike to Petroglyph Canyon will be offered in Rainbow Forest, where some of the park’s best petroglyphs can be found. Meet at the Rainbow Forest Museum at 10 a.m. Bring plenty of water, use sun protection and wear sturdy shoes. This hike is not accessible for people with mobility impairments.
